NEW AUDI S8 Autobahn Review (2022)

This is the NEW AUDI S8 Autobahn and it is a little bit like an F-35 lighting stealth fighter because it's got plenty of firepowers yet it manages to fly under the radar now Audi has just updated the S8 and the normal A8 s part of a mid-life facelift. I'm going to talk you through all the upgrades also going to chuck you through the exterior, the interior.

New Audi S8 Exterior Design 

So as part of the revisions, Audi has given the car some new taillights. They now feature OLED technology and they have different graphics in them depending on which driving mode you're in, also the car's approximately sensor at the rear so if another vehicle gets within two meters of it then the rear lights illuminate further now here's a little clip of that happening now I can't show you here because it's just too bright you won't see it now as part of the revisions there's also a redesigned rear bumper. You get some chrome trim on it, you get the S8 you get this eight badging here and quad tailpipes, and the good news is there's no fake exhaust here and you've got that lovely chrome surrounds, I like that. What I don't like though is this diffuser because that is totally fake I mean it totally looks rubbish and actually, you put a hand underneath it actually hollow so it's not going to diffuse any air it's actually going to capture it what's that all about. Moving down the side hardly anything has changed really it doesn't really need to. It's a good-looking car you do get new alloy wheel designs. They start from 

18 inches which are too small rising to 21s these are in the 20s and they look pretty nice. I think you're going to need at least 20s  to feel these wheel arches moving down the side. You can get some new paint schemes. You can nag it this lovely blue on the New AUDI S8. The New AUDI S8 also gets satin door mirrors. 

There are some of the paint schemes available as well nine new ones in total including five of which are matte and everyone knows that anything that's called matte is cool.

 You've also got some new headlight designs compared to the pre-facelift version and they're a bit higher up add has also made the grille slightly bigger. I don't know how they manage that it already takes at the whole front of the car but apparently it is slightly bigger and the design within the grille is different from before and the S8 has its own unique design as well as its S8 badging there as well. There are redesigned front bumpers as well compared to the pre-facelift version.

Well, the range kicks off at 74,985 pounds rising to 102,610 pounds for this range-topping S8. 

New Audi S8 Interior Design 

There is a change in the S8 that is it has now a three-spoke instead of a four-spoke steering wheel. The inside of the S8 is lovely it looks cool it's minimalist quality is exceptional and you've got the infotainment 

the screen here is fairly easy to use and you've got apple car play, android auto you've got your climate controls there not quite so easy to use but it's all okay.

You've got a lovely digital driver's display there however the tech on 

the board just doesn't feel quite as futuristic. Can't fault Audi's comfort though the seats are lovely. The upgraded sport seats that you've got the S logo embossed in them which is very nice. You've also got some decent storage there, the door bins are big and you will get the wireless charging there, you've got your ubsc ports there you've got some cup holders there as well. 

New Audi S8 Back Seats 

In the back seats of the S8, there's is plenty of room so look good headroom, good knee room, plenty of luxuries like blinds and a control panel, you've also got seat controls, USB charging, USBC and the wireless charging pad plus some cup holders there. You can get this car with a rear infotainment package so you can get some removable screens that attach to the front seatbacks and you can actually mirror your phone screen onto them so you can do your work or if you want you can stream Netflix or Youtube or whatever on there. 

New Audi S8 Boot 

The boot is big enough however the BMW 7 series big capacity of 515 liters, Mercedes S-Class 555 Litres but still the boot of the Audi S8 is in a nice square shape. There's not too much of a lip to lift things over and you the scuff plate over there so that you don't scratch your paintwork if you're dragging things out and there are various tie-down points that feel secure and solid you can get nets and little storage are there. Also, there is under-floor storage as well.

4 cool things about the New Audi S8

• You can get the long-wheelbase version of the id8 with an electrically deployable footrest for the rear passengers which also massages your carves and heats your legs.
• You can get the Audi S8 with rear-wheel steering which makes it more maneuverable than you'd imagine such a big car to be.
• It has matrix-led reading lights in the back. So you've got a selection of led and you can use the touchpad to control exactly where they illuminate, so you can highlight individual words in your book.
• To make the car easy to get in and out of when you unlock it and go to get in watch it raises up on its suspension.

Engines 

Now let's talk about the engines so as well as the plugin hybrid. You can just get a normal 3 liter V6 petrol it has less power though, 340 horsepower, and the economy is only 31 miles per gallon compared to the 156 miles per gallon. You are supposed to be able to get from the plug-in hybrid which in reality you'll never get close to. Now if it's a real-world economy you actually want for lots of motorway miles you want 3-liter diesel so that should be able to do 40 miles per gallon and it's fairly nippy because it's got 286 horsepower but if it's horsepower you're after you need this engine here it is 4-liter twin-turbo puts out 571 horsepower and 800 meters of torque now all a8 has Quattro all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox and this S8 benefits further from a rear limited-slip differential now that should help you put the power down when you're accelerating out of corners. 

Verdict 

So then what's my final verdict on the revised Audi A8. should you avoid it? should you consider it? should you shortlist it or should you just go right ahead and buy it? Well, I reckon you should shortlist the Audi 8 it really is a lovely, luxury car and it's especially lovely with this S8 stealthy performance, flying under the radar.
